Douglas Huntsinger is the Special Assistant for Drug Prevention, Treatment & Enforcement in the Office of Governor Eric Holcomb. He was appointed in March of 2017, and is charged with assisting the newly appointed Executive Director with coordinating, aligning, and focusing the states response to the opioid epidemic. Mr. Huntsinger holds a degree in political science from Indiana State University. Upon graduation he became an aide to Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels where he served in a number of capacities, including as Policy Director overseeing thirteen state agencies. Previously, Mr. Huntsinger served for four years as the Executive Producer of the Indiana State Fair. In 2009, Mr. Huntsinger was appointed by Indianapolis City Council to the Equal Opportunity Advisory Board where he serves as its vice chairman.
