Uber Pilot Program
The St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and Rosary Hall are currently running a pilot program that offers free Uber rides to those in Intensive Out Patient Program (IOP) Treatment to ensure that they aren’t missing meetings. This program not only eliminates the cost of travel for the patient, but provides a private environment for them to reflect on their sessions.
Orlando Howard, Manager of Outpatient Treatment Services at Rosary Hall, commented, “[i]magine going through IOP for three hours plus and then getting on a bus. It’s difficult to be able to focus on what you just came from and learned. But if you put them in an environment where it’s quiet and they can reflect, we think there’s real value in that.”
