This is the fourth episode of our five-part series on the Showtime original program “The TRADE,” a docu-series providing a front row seat to the opioid epidemic through the eyes of those most affected: the growers and cartel bosses, addicts and their families and law enforcement. In this episode, once again veteran documentary producer Pagan Harleman, who serves as executive producer of The TRADE, offers her insights and the backstories behind episode 4.

These podcasts are great. My daughter has been struggling for 7 years and has gone to different treatment places. She was in jail in Ohio for 2 days and said she never wants to back and she had a good PO and judge who said she would serve 60 days in jail if doesn’t follow thru. Two weeks after being out she was using again and scared to death.. We found Arrow Passages in Ohio and so far they are the best place she has ever gone to. They are so educated and honest with her and me, her mother. I wish we would have found them sooner. I told her there is a reason she has made it this long. She has destroyed her body and overdosed and died twice and I Thank God and the first responders so much. The first responders have a hard job and luckily they had enough narcan with them because I have heard other parents that their child overdosed and died because the squad or sheriff did not have enough narcan. My daughter wants to be a responsible adult, she has cried and said she’s so tired and knows she has to stay diligent in staying better. I can’t even imagine the struggle everyday. Arrow Passages is great tho so far and I really, really encourage family members to talk to them if your loved one needs treatment. They are a blessing!!!!
