Greg asks Megan to describe what telemedicine is and how it helps those struggling with substance abuse. She explains that telemedicine is an easy way for patients to receive medicine and diagnosis’ without leaving their home. Within the programs at 2nd Chance, Megan says a specialist meets with the patient though a digital video platform. She explains why telemedicine is helpful for patients. “Your therapist will see you on your time, at your convenience,” says Megan. “There’s no running back and forth between the doctor’s office and home anymore… It’s about meeting that person when it’s convenient for you and fits it into your schedule, not the other way around.”
